Substituted Marriage to a Military Man: The Abstinent Boss Drops the Act on the First Night Chapter 187 Tired All Night

Wen Ci pondered for a moment, then reached out and took Huo Jingyuan’s rough, large hand. Gazing intently at him, she slowly began, “Huo Jingyuan, you…”

Before she could finish her sentence, a desirous glint flickered in the man’s eyes. He leaned in and took the initiative to kiss her, sealing her warm, moist lips with his own.

Wen Ci’s eyes widened in surprise behind her glasses.

She had genuinely intended to discuss serious matters with him.

Yet, things had developed this way. After a long moment, Huo Jingyuan released her. His eyebrows lifted slightly as he asked in a hoarse voice, “Wife, what were you going to say to me just now?”

Wen Ci shot him a glare.

Her original thought was that since Huo Jingyuan would rarely have such a long holiday again, he should take advantage of this convalescence period to spend more time with his elderly grandparents. His parents worked in confidential units and had few opportunities to return to Hangzhou to visit. She wanted him to fulfill his filial duties more during this time.

But right now, she wasn’t in the mood to talk. Her lips had been bitten raw by this… dog of a man.

She rubbed her thumb over the corner of her sore mouth, frowned slightly, and complained, “Huo Jingyuan, were you born in the Year of the Dog or something?”

Hearing this, Huo Jingyuan held her smooth, delicate hand, his mind involuntarily recalling the sensation of her warm lips. A flash of desire passed through his eyes. “Who told you to look at me with that kind of gaze? It made me lose control.”

Wen Ci: “…”

She was wrong. Huo Jingyuan wasn’t like a dog; he was more like a… Teddy!

“So, it’s my fault for seducing you with my eyes…?”

Huo Jingyuan didn’t reply. He just kept looking at her.

Wen Ci raised her hand and lightly swatted him—less of a hit, more of a warning tap. “Be serious. How about you stay in Hangzhou a few more days to keep Grandma and Grandpa company? I can go back alone.”

“Hmm?”

Wen Ci persuaded him, “Your parents are away most of the year. Your grandparents need companionship. As their grandson, you should fulfill some filial duties on your parents’ behalf.”

Huo Jingyuan’s expression gradually turned serious. He indeed hadn’t considered this thoroughly. After returning to China and joining the military in the northwest, apart from business trips, he only took leave to return to Hangzhou during the New Year when his parents came back. All these years, the old couple had been quite lonely.

Suddenly, Huo Jingyuan thought of something and curled his lips into a smile. “Then let’s hurry up and have a daughter. Once we do, the old folks will have plenty to keep them busy.” Huo Jingyuan’s grandparents were in good health.

Wen Ci: “…”

What he said wasn’t without reason. In the 1980s, elders often wished for a house full of children and grandchildren, equating it with happiness and fulfillment.

Huo Jingyuan said, “Then I’ll stay in Hangzhou a couple more days for Grandma and Grandpa. I’ll bring the computer back with me then.”

“Hmm?” Wen Ci blinked. “Can’t I take it with me tomorrow?”

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingyuan leaned down close to her ear, took her earlobe between his lips, and said in a voice that was both hoarse and enticing, “What do you think?”

A slight shiver ran through Wen Ci’s body, a faint blush spreading across her cheeks. That night, Wen Ci was exhausted until dawn.

By early morning, after Huo Jingyuan had bathed Wen Ci, he passed through the living room and glanced at the time before returning to the room to pack his luggage.

Wen Ci’s flight was at eleven.

It was now just past 6:30, the sky barely light.

He calculated that Wen Ci could sleep for another three hours. West Lake was quite a distance from the airport; she could sleep more in the car and again on the plane.

Huo Jingyuan yawned as he went downstairs.

The Huo family had an unwritten rule: breakfast was prepared by the housekeeper every day at 6:40 AM. If you missed that time, you missed breakfast.

At the table, Grandpa Huo noticed his grandson’s tired state and asked with concern, “Didn’t sleep well last night?”

“I didn’t sleep.”

“How can that be okay? You’re injured; you need plenty of rest to recover quickly. Eat up and then go get some sleep.”
