Fu Songcheng looked at the name “Zhou Zhenhua,” his gaze narrowing slightly.
Yu Huaiting had clearly seen the name too and raised an eyebrow.
“The official side reacted fast.”
But Fu Songcheng didn’t believe the official side could save scattered hearts amid the chaos.
Cannibalism was the norm in the game world; he’d killed no small number of people, directly or indirectly, since entering. Not to mention Yu Huaiting, who’d been in the game longer and shouted about killing every day.
Fu Songcheng sighed softly and turned to Yu Huaiting. “They need force to suppress things—otherwise, a week from now when the forced instance entry comes, there’ll definitely be chaos.”
Yu Huaiting nodded.
What was Fu Songcheng saying? No idea.
Whatever—just nod and it’ll be right.
Fearing he’d look distracted, Yu Huaiting held Fu Songcheng a little tighter.
“Let me see your friend requests.”
Fu Songcheng suddenly said.
Yu Huaiting’s face was written all over with resistance. “I turned them off long ago. Tens of thousands of requests—annoying as hell. Either people cursing me or people begging me to carry them.”
“Does your brain not turn at all?”
Fu Songcheng said with distaste. “I just told you ‘Dawn’ wants to establish order. They’ll definitely need force support—there’s no way they’d let the number one on the Power Ranking go.”
“We won’t stir up trouble, but we can’t be completely in the dark either. We need to see the official side’s attitude first.”
Fu Songcheng of course didn’t want to make an enemy of such a massive official organization.
Once labeled “anti-human” or “chaos faction,” they’d face endless trouble.
But Fu Songcheng and Yu Huaiting also couldn’t become anyone’s blade.
The one holding the blade could only be Fu Songcheng.
Though somewhat reluctant, Yu Huaiting pursed his lips and obediently opened the system settings.
The instant the friend request switch flipped to “On,” accompanied by a string of frantic ding-ding-ding-ding-ding notifications, Yu Huaiting’s system panel nearly froze.
The red unread message indicator instantly soared to “9999+.”
Yu Huaiting clicked his tongue. At Fu Songcheng’s signal, he blocked those random players and specifically filtered out friend requests with the [Dawn] prefix.
Sure enough, there were dozens.
Some from the recruitment department, some from logistics, some even claiming to be Zhou Zhenhua’s personal secretary.
“Quite popular, huh~”
Yu Huaiting looked at the messages as if they had nothing to do with him, still in the mood to joke. “Songcheng-gege, you’d better keep a close eye—otherwise I might get snatched away by them?”
He was, unsurprisingly, rewarded with Fu Songcheng’s head-knock.
“I really should beg them to take you away.”
Having dealt Yu Huaiting a blow, Fu Songcheng lifted his head slightly, signaling Yu Huaiting to look at the system panel.
“Accept the request with the highest rank.”
“And then?”
Yu Huaiting’s eyes lit up, as if already prepared for battle.
Fu Songcheng reached out and pinched his chin. “Be polite. Whatever the other side sends later, you reply with only two words—’Received.’”
“Everything else—ignore completely.”
Yu Huaiting was taken aback, then understood Fu Songcheng’s intent and couldn’t help but chuckle: “Leave them hanging like subordinates reporting for work—didn’t you say not to provoke them?”
“Otherwise it wouldn’t be worthy of your number-one status on the Power Ranking.”
Fu Songcheng smiled too. Before the official side, his attitude couldn’t be too gentle, nor too hard—so “received” it was.
Read and replied—whether to actually do it was his and Yu Huaiting’s business.
Yu Huaiting’s movements, however, were extremely swift. He accepted the request tagged [Dawn – Core Recruiter].
Almost the very next second after acceptance, the other side’s messages came firing off like a barrage—clearly someone had been watching Yu Huaiting’s account specifically.
[Dawn – Core Recruiter: Mr. Yu Huaiting, hello! We’re honored that you’ve accepted our friend request. We are the “Dawn” organization, committed to establishing safe zones within Death Party and saving more innocent players.]
Yu Huaiting leaned lazily against Fu Songcheng’s shoulder and slowly replied.
[Yu Huaiting: Received.]
The top of the screen showed “typing…” for a full half minute—as if the other side was carefully choosing their words.
[Dawn – Core Recruiter: Your strength is obvious to the entire server. Our Chief Zhou greatly admires your ability. We sincerely hope you’ll join Dawn and assist us in managing and deterring unstable players within the game. As long as you’re willing, Dawn will provide you with the most generous resources and the highest-level treatment!]
[Yu Huaiting: Received.]
This time a full minute passed before the message popped up again, the tone noticeably more impatient.
[Dawn – Core Recruiter: Mr. Yu, we’re approaching you with the utmost sincerity. If you’re willing, we can send someone to pick you up and discuss in person.]
Yu Huaiting let out a cold humph—typing over and over was too damn annoying.
He circled Fu Songcheng’s waist, rested his chin in the hollow of Fu Songcheng’s neck, and swiped through the system panel’s settings interface for ages.
“What are you doing?”
Fu Songcheng turned his head to look.
“Looking for…” Yu Huaiting muttered, then his eyes suddenly lit up. “Found it!”
In the auxiliary menu, he finally dug out the auto-reply function.
Without hesitation, he turned on auto-reply and set the reply content to “Received.”
Having set all that up, Yu Huaiting let out a long breath of relief. He turned and pressed down on Fu Songcheng, bearing his entire weight over, burying his face in Fu Songcheng’s chest with an extremely sweet yet aggrieved sigh:
“Songcheng-gege~ so troublesome.”
Fu Songcheng, called “Gege” in that drawn-out, thousand-times-turned way, felt half his bones go soft.
“Replying to a message exhausts you to death.”
Fu Songcheng raised his hand and threaded his fingers through Yu Huaiting’s somewhat messy white hair, gently stroking the back of his head.
Feeling the soothing from above, Yu Huaiting squinted comfortably in Fu Songcheng’s embrace, a sly, satisfied smile curving at the corner of his mouth.
He tightened his arms, secretly stoking the fire on Fu Songcheng.
After tasting meat for the first time, the puppy had gotten very clever.
If Fu Songcheng wouldn’t feed him, the puppy would forage for himself.
Do it yourself, and you’ll have plenty to eat.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Dawn organization’s recruiter stared at the tenth “Received” that popped back within seconds and felt like he was punching cotton.
How could this be!
The world’s ending, and he still had to deal with this kind of boss who only replied “Received.”
