Shi Yuxing’s underwear was all white briefs. Unlike boxer briefs, this style accentuated the shape of his buttocks, the fabric tightly hugging them while also pressing out a clear line.
Rough fingertips scraped against his useless gland, and his back instantly went rigid.
Shi Yuxing flushed with anger and shame. “Gu Lingzhou, you bastard!” The more he cursed, the more Gu Lingzhou seemed to enjoy it, his lips brushing against Shi Yuxing’s ear. “So soft…”
The obscene words burned his ears like fire. He was shocked by the alpha’s boldness and embarrassed by his desire.
“Mmph!” The other hand moved to his stomach, then slipped under his clothes, emerging from the collar to grip his neck.
“I need to tell you something. Come here.” He turned his head, his tear-filled eyes pitifully wretched, and the person behind him choked up.
Gu Lingzhou, his mind clouded, obediently leaned his face in.
A crisp slap rang out—a red mark appeared on his cheek.
The beta’s toes had barely touched the cold floor when he was snatched back and pinned down again.
“Mmph…” Shi Yuxing was dazed from the impact, his lower half suddenly lifted into the air. Panic crept up his scalp as his knees were spread apart. In the faint moonlight, a dim glow fell on the root of his thighs.
Shame overwhelmed his fear. His hands scrambled to cover himself, but it was already too late.
“What’s that?” Gu Lingzhou’s dark eyes shifted from the back of his hand to Shi Yuxing’s anguished face, still wet with tears. “A little bump?”
He’d definitely seen it!!!
The alpha’s presence crashed down like a tidal wave, smothering his breath. His nose touched Gu Lingzhou’s nose. His body was folded, sitting him onto Gu Lingzhou’s stomach.
“What is that? Your gland?”
Shi Yuxing angrily pulled one hand back to cover his eyes—how did he know?!
“Wifey.” Gu Lingzhou pulled his hand away. The beta’s superior facial features glowed like a night pearl. Those dark eyes seemed to suck Shi Yuxing in. Shi Yuxing swallowed and gave a slight nod. “Mm…”
“You’re not a beta?”
“I am.” Shi Yuxing closed his eyes, turning his head away in defeat. “It’s a useless gland. I’ve had it since birth.”
The warmth receded. Shi Yuxing opened his eyes—only to see a shocking sight. That bastard was staring at his gland with his tongue out.
!!!
His hand switched from defense to attack, covering half of Gu Lingzhou’s face, his voice laced with fear: “What are you doing!!!”
“I want to bite you. Is that not allowed?” Gu Lingzhou looked at him, his voice muffled by Shi Yuxing’s palm.
“Not allowed!”
His palm grew wet. Shi Yuxing’s face burned, his heart racing. This guy really was a mad dog.
Shi Yuxing bit his lower lip, his face red. “If you keep this up, I’ll scream!”
He wanted to gamble.
The air fell silent. Just when Shi Yuxing thought he’d won the bet, a chilling voice slithered up to his shoulder like a ghost: “Guess why they haven’t come out for so long?”
“You—what did you do?”
“Dinner. They both finished it.”
Shi Yuxing was startled and pushed himself up. “You drugged them?” Seeing his silence, Shi Yuxing’s eyes went wide. “Are you crazy?! If they pass out in the middle of a shower, they’ll drown!”
“Crazy? You couldn’t remember that coffee cup, only remembered meeting them that day. Crazy? Yes, I’m crazy. This house should only have the two of us. What does it matter if they die?” Gu Lingzhou’s cold tone quickly turned wounded. “I’m so sad… so sad. You and I are the real couple…”
Shi Yuxing was held tight. The overwhelming scent of fir in the air was so strong that even a beta could detect it. Everything that had come out of Gu Lingzhou’s mouth tonight was utterly horrifying. He finally understood just how terrifying this man’s jealousy could be.
He had married a mad dog!!!
In the end, another bite mark appeared on his gland. The stained white fabric spread even wider. The wife on the bed trembled all over, his eyes filled with tears and terror. Gu Lingzhou leaned down and lifted him up.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll take you to see them.”
His back was long soaked. Shi Yuxing lay limp on his shoulder, his eyes rimmed red. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got—so he bit down.
Tasting the fabric, Shi Yuxing spat it out and found another spot to gnaw on. Gu Lingzhou let him bite, carrying him as he opened the master bedroom door. The man on the bed, glasses on, eyes tightly shut, was already unconscious. Gu Lingzhou patted Shi Yuxing’s butt and turned him around. “He’s not dead. Next one.”
Shi Yuxing puffed his cheeks and hit him twice.
Xiao Zhou was leaning against the bathroom sink, softly snoring, sleeping soundly.
Gu Lingzhou made him turn his head. “He’s not dead either. What a shame.” Shi Yuxing scrambled up and glared at him—only to earn a kiss.
He had no cupid’s bow, but tonight Gu Lingzhou had sucked one into shape with his relentless attention. His gaze finally tore away from Shi Yuxing’s swollen lips. “Let’s go. Time for bed.”
This glorious yet silent planet in the universe quietly revolved around its star, the terminator line moving swiftly, hiding the twinkling stars in the sky.
…
The lights in the operating room went out, and a thin, frail boy was wheeled out.
“Move aside, move aside.” The doctor by the bedside, still wearing a mask, had an urgent look in his eyes. He turned and muttered something to a few others, then let go and stayed behind.
An Bao seized the opportunity and quickly stepped forward, a police officer following beside him. “Doctor, may I ask about that patient’s condition?”
The doctor in dark green surgical scrubs: “Are you a family member?”
“No, I’m a police officer,” An Bao showed his badge. “This child has no family left.”
The doctor fell silent. An Bao continued: “I’m here to find out about his condition. Would you have a moment to speak with us?”
“His situation is quite complicated. The surgery was successful, but since his gland is missing, whether he wakes up depends on his willpower.” The doctor had changed into a white coat, which made him look much more severe.
An Bao clasped his hands together: “Understood. I also want to ask—how was his gland removed?”
The doctor: “…………”
The officer taking notes beside him: “…………”
An awkward silence hung in the air for a few seconds. An Bao blinked and straightened up. “What I mean is—can you tell me whether the gland was violently extracted? What did the wound look like?”
The doctor frowned. “It doesn’t look violent. The incision on the back of his neck is clean and not large. The one wielding the scalpel has skill surpassing mine. Such steady hands—I’ve rarely encountered them… Dr. Shi at your Imperial Hospital—Shi Yuxing—has that level of skill.”
An Bao tugged at his lips. “What a coincidence. To be honest, that Dr. Shi is my sister-in-law.”
The doctor across from him paused. “Well, that is quite a coincidence.”
“There’s no doctor with that level of skill here?”
“I’ve only been transferred here for two years. I’m not very familiar with this planet yet, so I can’t say for certain.” The doctor took a deep breath and lowered his voice. “It’s chaotic here—black markets and such. I don’t know much about it. I’m not sure if there are gland doctors in those places either.”
The doctor had been tactful enough. An Bao leaned over and whispered something to the officer beside him, then looked back at the doctor and nodded. “Thank you. We’re done here. If the patient wakes up, we may contact you again.”
The door closed. The officer organized his notes. “Captain, are we staying here until Tang Jue wakes up?”
An Bao pulled a cigarette from his pocket and held it between his index and middle fingers—but couldn’t find a lighter.
“We’ll wait. Send the documents back to headquarters. I’m going to make a call. Do whatever you need to do.”

Dr. Shi was lying on his desk catching up on sleep. Last night’s events had been too much—lack of sleep left him with a splitting headache. And it wasn’t just his head that hurt—his mouth, inner thighs, waist, butt—anywhere Gu Lingzhou had touched was sore.
He’d barely woken up this morning before being cornered by the other two alphas, who turned him over and inspected him from all angles.
“Here, here, and here! Gu Lingzhou, you shameless bastard! Drugging me unconscious, bullying wifey—do you have no shame at all!”
“Yuxing, does your mouth hurt? Did you put medicine on it?…”
The three alphas bickered noisily. Shi Yuxing barely managed a few bites of breakfast before slipping out, locking all the Gu Lingzhous outside the starship.
So hungry…
He regretted giving all the snacks Gu Lingzhou had brought before to Chu Xiaoyun.
Pulling his thoughts back, he was both tired and hungry. He clutched his stomach, leaned back in his chair, and closed his eyes to rest—but eventually, hunger won out. Shi Yuxing dragged his weak steps and slowly pushed the door open.
There were unusually few patients today, which was a good thing—but also risky. If a patient suddenly showed up while he was away, he’d be marked as absent without leave, and three months’ pay would be deducted. That was no small amount.
The nearest vending machine was on the first floor of the next building—about a ten-minute round trip. He didn’t know if he’d be lucky enough to miss any patients.
There was a curse in hospitals—anytime you went AWOL, you’d get caught; any moment you felt grateful for the quiet, something would happen. Shi Yuxing hesitated at his office door. Just as he was about to settle for drinking some water to fill his stomach, Lin Anran came over carrying a bag.
“Hey, what a coincidence.” Lin Anran walked over with light steps, then noticed something off about Shi Yuxing’s expression. “What’s wrong? Your lips are so pale—should I call a doctor?”
Shi Yuxing shot him a look. “Dr. Lin, can you not joke right now?”
Lin Anran suddenly understood, his mouth forming an “O.” “What happened to you?”
“Haven’t eaten.” Shi Yuxing lowered his gaze, peering through the loosely tied bag in Lin Anran’s hand.
“Haven’t eaten? Perfect—I’ve got some beef here. You can have some to tide you over.” Lin Anran opened the bag—inside were several clear containers, clearly homemade. Sure enough: “Wuyang just brought these over. Try some.”
Shi Yuxing felt like he’d found a savior. “Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. That kid Wuyang brought way too much anyway—I was planning to share with you.” Lin Anran generously pulled out a container and handed it to him, then nudged him back into the office.
The beef was sliced thin, the tendons embedded in the meat, fresh and giving off a faint savory aroma.
Soon, half the container of beef was gone. Lin Anran smiled. “What’s up with your neck? Yesterday it was just one bandage—today it looks like you’ve covered the whole thing.”
Shi Yuxing licked the soy sauce off his lips. “A dog bit me.”
Lin Anran’s smile froze. “D-dog… it wouldn’t be…”
Receiving the silent confirmation, Lin Anran awkwardly changed the subject. “Hey, your place is pretty empty today too, haha—no patients!” Before he could finish, Shi Yuxing clapped a hand over his mouth, his eyes warning. Lin Anran quickly shut up, eyes wide, nodding.
Shi Yuxing pulled his hand back and let out a sigh. Just then, the hospital’s PA system began playing a soft piano melody. Both doctors in the room were startled—their eyes met, both filled with alarm.
