1980s: Sickly Educated Youth Raising Cubs in the Countryside Chapter 238: Old Man Luo Gets Arrested

“Why go this far? Su Zhiqing, calm down. What on earth happened here?”

The onlookers tried to dissuade Su Fang, fearing the situation might escalate to a tragic end given how serious she looked.

“And you still dare to talk!”

Old lady Luo’s shrill voice pierced the air: “You shameless thing! You’ve been seducing everyone around you, you wretched harlot-“

Before she could finish, Song Wei slapped her twice, silencing her instantly.

Seeing old man Luo trying to flee, Song Wei ran over and kicked him hard, sending him stumbling, but she also restrained Su Fang.

“It’s not worth it to get worked up over garbage like him.”

Su Fang’s eyes were bloodshot as she leaned weakly against Song Wei, her body trembling.

With her forceful intervention, Song Wei managed to control the situation, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief. One of the neighbors quickly snatched the knife out of Su Fang’s hand.

Old lady Luo, however, still tried to hurl insults, but a quick-thinking older woman clamped a hand over her mouth.

“Are you trying to get yourself killed? Don’t you see Su Zhiqing’s ready to take lives right now?”

“What happened here? How did it escalate to this point?”

Old lady Luo snarled, “This shameless little tramp tried to seduce my husband!”

At this, everyone’s gaze shifted to Su Fang.

In the past, Su Fang would have sobbed and tried to explain herself, but such situations only got messier the more one defended themselves, especially when dealing with someone as unreasonable as old lady Luo.

Now, all Su Fang wanted was to take everyone in this vile family down with her.

The crowd wanted Su Fang to explain, but Song Wei immediately rebuked old lady Luo.

“Are you out of your mind? Is your brain entirely water with no common sense? Su Fang, a young woman, seducing your decrepit husband? For what? His age, halfway in the grave? Or his poverty and rotting teeth?”

Old man Luo’s face flushed with anger as he panted heavily.

Song Wei continued mercilessly, “Look at him, panting like he’s running out of air after two steps. And that face? Wrinkled, grotesque-just looking at him makes me lose my appetite. It’s disgusting that even someone like you treasures him.”

She sneered, “Does Su Zhiqing have a fetish for ugliness or old men? Why would she ever go after a broke, repulsive geezer like him? Are those eyes under your brows purely decorative? Or are you just blind?”

Old lady Luo’s eyes rolled back in fury. “You-“

“Don’t even bring up your wrinkly old geezer. Su Zhiqing didn’t even give your son a second look. Do you really have no clue how she ended up marrying into your family? You got such a beautiful daughter-in-law, didn’t cherish her, and still act like this. Who’s going to believe your nonsense? Does anyone here actually think Su Zhiqing would seduce someone like him?”

Song Wei turned to the gathered crowd.

The onlookers all shook their heads.

Believing such a ridiculous story would be pure foolishness.

At first, old lady Luo’s passionate accusations had sounded convincing, but after Song Wei’s scathing remarks, everyone’s clarity returned.

“Wow, Song Zhiqing has such a sharp tongue. I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that.”

“True, but she’s right. Why would Su Zhiqing ever go after someone like old man Luo?”

The crowd shifted their gazes to old man Luo, who looked both old and unattractive-someone even widows in the village would avoid.

Feeling their judgmental stares, old man Luo was seething with anger.

Old lady Luo shouted, “I saw it with my own eyes!”

“That tramp was bathing in broad daylight! She did it to seduce my husband!”

Song Wei turned to Su Fang. “Su Zhiqing, explain this. Why were you bathing during the day? Where were you bathing, and was anyone else home? Make everything clear.”

Su Fang, still trembling, wiped her tears and calmly recounted the events.

“I went to wash clothes earlier and was pushed into a ditch by her.” She pointed at old lady Luo.

Old lady Luo looked guilty but quickly retorted, “It was an accident!”

Su Fang gave her a cold glare and ignored her denial. “My clothes were soaked and muddy, so when I got home, I naturally cleaned myself up. I made sure no one was home, closed the doors and windows, and washed inside.

But I didn’t expect…”

She trailed off, her voice trembling with rage, and glared at old man Luo, her eyes burning with murderous intent.

The rest of her words didn’t need to be spoken. The crowd could guess.

Their gazes toward old man Luo and old lady Luo turned to disgust and disdain.

“Who would’ve thought old man Luo was this kind of person? No wonder their son turned out the way he did-like father, like son.”

“Poor Su Zhiqing. How did she end up with a family like this?”

old lady Luo stubbornly insisted that Su Fang was the one at fault.

“She shouldn’t have been bathing during the day! Why couldn’t she just change her clothes? She’s just being dramatic-she did it on purpose!”

An older woman retorted, “So why was old man Luo sneaking around her door while she was washing?”

old lady Luo snapped back, “That’s not her room; it’s my son’s room! This is our house-he can go wherever he wants!”

Song Wei declared coldly, “Fine. Let’s report this to the police. If words can’t settle this, they’ll sort it out. Old man Luo’s behavior counts as harassment.”

As she spoke, she grabbed Su Fang, ready to leave.

Hearing this, the Luo family panicked.

“No! This is a family matter. You’re an outsider-stay out of it!”

Old man Luo also shouted, “It was just an accident! Are you really going to blow this up? In the end, it’s Su Fang’s reputation that’ll be ruined!”

He pointed at Su Fang, trying to intimidate her.

Su Fang sneered, “Everyone already knows. What else do I have to lose?”

Her tone was filled with disgust. The only thing she wanted now was for this vile family to face retribution.

Song Wei shoved old man Luo aside when he tried to block their way.

“Move.”

As Su Fang and Song Wei left, someone in the crowd spat on the ground.

“Shameless! Peeping at his daughter-in-law and tarnishing her reputation.”

“Reporting him is the right move. This whole family is rotten to the core.”

Once the two women were gone, old man Luo turned to old lady Luo and slapped her hard.

“This is all your fault! Now they’re going to report me, and if I go down, don’t think you’ll be spared!”

Old lady Luo screamed, lunging at him.

“You dare hit me? If it weren’t for your filthy behavior, would I have made a scene? This is on you!”

Su Fang initially just wanted to force the family to agree to a divorce.

But now, she wanted them to face the consequences for everything.

So, she reported them to the police.

She didn’t ask Song Wei for help but went to file the report herself.

That very day, the authorities came to investigate.

The earlier commotion had drawn enough witnesses, and the Luo family’s attempts to lie were futile.

In the end, old man Luo was arrested.
