The night temperature in the capital wasn’t particularly high, but inside the carriage, which was just over twenty degrees Celsius, Xiao Cheng had somehow worked up a full sweat. His sticky, clammy body pressed against hers, making her uncomfortable. Lin Aiyun’s delicate brows furrowed tightly as she reached out to push him away, but the smooth, hard feel of his skin beneath her fingers was like scorching iron, and she didn’t dare touch him again.
“Can you hurry up? I want to get back to the room. This is too tiring.”
Having nearly been caught in such an intimate act by outsiders, Lin Aiyun’s enthusiasm had greatly diminished. She couldn’t help but urge him impatiently.
Her soft, sweet voice landed in Xiao Cheng’s ears, and the movement of his hips paused for a moment before speeding up in response to her words. His broad palms gripped her waist to form a support, helping her kneel steady.
“Mmm… Xiao Cheng!” Lin Aiyun now fully understood the meaning of “shooting oneself in the foot.”
Her fingers curled, pressing firmly against the car seat. When her endurance reached its limit, she couldn’t help but shift half an inch forward. But just as she moved, Xiao Cheng pulled her back, roughly turning her over until their cheeks were almost touching. His lips landed on her ring, kissing it over and over, as if it were the most precious treasure in the world.
“Didn’t you say to hurry? You said it yourself—how long has it been, and you’re already going back on your word?”
The barely noticeable shyness in her eyes instantly turned into mortified anger. Her legs wrapped tightly around his waist, and she let out a defiant, coquettish hum: “I said hurry up, so stop dawdling. I’m not going back on anything.”
Their ragged, urgent breathing in the cramped space seemed to grow even thicker the moment her words faded. His teeth gently grazed her fingertips, and he lazily lifted his eyelids to look at her. The corners of his lips seemed to curl up slightly before he pressed her back against the car seat and launched into another round of fierce assault.
Mixed between their lips and teeth was the lingering scent of red wine.
In the dead of night, two sneaky figures appeared in the courtyard. They stopped at the slightest sound, only moving forward again once everything was completely quiet.
By the moonlight, it was just barely possible to make out that they entered the main house.
A man wearing only a pair of trousers, his upper body bare, carried a petite figure draped in his shirt in his arms. As he stepped over the threshold, he deliberately lost his balance and stumbled, startling the woman, who quickly tightened her arms around his waist and burrowed into his chest.
Xiao Cheng smiled, the mischief and triumph in his eyes growing more apparent. He grabbed her arms and looped them around his neck, pulling them even closer together. After closing the door, he lowered his head to kiss her lips. Perhaps sensing they were now in a safe place, she leaned her upper body back, pretending to dodge.
“Who tears down the bridge after crossing it? I carried you all the way back, and now you don’t recognize me?”
Feeling several pinches on her backside, Lin Aiyun’s ears turned bright red.
She retorted in a low voice: “That’s all your fault! I told you to stop earlier, but you wouldn’t listen. Otherwise…”
Would she be unable to walk?
Xiao Cheng released one hand from holding her, sliding it up along her smooth spine, brushing aside her cascading hair, and resting it on the nape of her neck. He loved to grip her there and kiss her senseless. Lin Aiyun immediately sensed something was wrong and struggled to get down.
“I really can’t go on.”
She was already exhausted in the car, and they’d indulged two or three times tonight. If he came at her again, wouldn’t that be the end of her?
“What are you thinking? I’m taking you to wash up, then we’ll sleep.” With that, he actually set her down on the bed, casually grabbed a shirt from the wardrobe, put it on, and walked out.
Her face flushed, Lin Aiyun cleared her throat softly. Not daring to roll around on the bed and dirty the sheets, she sat obediently on the edge, waiting.
The kitchen was some distance away, but hot water was always kept ready in the pot, so before long, Xiao Cheng returned, carrying a bucket of hot water in each hand with effortless ease.
Xiao Cheng pushed aside the curtain and strode boldly into the bedroom, stripping off his clothes one-handed as he walked. In just a few moves, he’d undone his belt and pants, and soon stood completely naked in front of Lin Aiyun. His mouth, as always, had no filter, and his first words were: “Are your legs still weak?”
She nearly choked on her own saliva. Covering her mouth, she stared at him with wide eyes, as if accusing him of being shameless. She was still wearing his shirt, which carried some indescribable odors, but at this point, she didn’t care—as long as it covered her a little.
Lin Aiyun tried to brace herself on the bed frame to stand, managing to straighten up, but the next second, she was swept up in a princess carry. His shirt was tossed to the floor, and waves of heat radiated from his body like a giant furnace.
His whole body had a faint smell of sweat and the lingering traces of lovemaking.
“You stink.” Lin Aiyun turned her head away in disgust, but didn’t forget to direct him: “Hurry up and get clean so we can rest.”
Xiao Cheng almost laughed in exasperation, but hearing her say that, he doubted himself and lowered his head to sniff at his shoulder. Sure, there was some odor, but it wasn’t that bad, was it?
“You’re complaining about me? If it weren’t for me putting in all the hard work, would you have had such a good time? You ungrateful little thing.” Xiao Cheng didn’t hold back—he bit her cheek with a loud smack.
Hearing that, Lin Aiyun was so mortified she could die. She quickly covered his mouth. “You…”
Before she could finish, she felt his tongue give her palm a long, wet lick.
“Xiao Cheng, are you a dog?” Biting, licking—what was he, a puppy?!
“Yeah, I’m your dog.”
The answer came without hesitation. Lin Aiyun froze for a moment, then felt her heartbeat begin to falter, growing faster and denser like a drumbeat. Some nameless emotion tugged at her heart, little by little.
“You, you, you…” Lin Aiyun didn’t know what to say. Heat crept up from her palm, spreading like a wildfire, burning hotter and hotter. Finally, she could only lean in to silence him with her lips, whispering fiercely in embarrassment: “If you keep this up, I’ll… I’ll make you sleep on the floor.”
“That’s… truly terrifying.” Xiao Cheng made an exaggerated scared face, but his eyes were full of laughter.
Lin Aiyun was so annoyed that she hit him several times with her fists, and after fooling around for a while longer, they finally made it to the bathroom.
After all that commotion, by the time they got back to bed, Lin Aiyun was practically asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. Her body habitually curled toward him, and her calf casually draped over his leg. Xiao Cheng let her do as she pleased, pulled the thin blanket up over her, then closed his eyes and soon drifted off to sleep as well.
The next day, when Lin Aiyun woke up, Xiao Cheng was still lying beside her—a rare occurrence. His breathing was even, and he was sound asleep. She felt a flicker of surprise, then remembered that he’d mentioned last time that they were supposed to go deliver wedding invitations to some acquaintances together.
Judging by the light outside, it was already getting late. Lin Aiyun propped herself up on one elbow and reached out to pinch Xiao Cheng’s cheek. A short stubble had grown on his chin overnight, and it was quite prickly.
“Get up.”
“Wake up—the sun’s already shining on your butt.”
After calling out twice with no reaction from Xiao Cheng whatsoever—
If it weren’t for the rise and fall of his chest and the breath beneath his nose, she would have suspected something was wrong. Usually, he woke up earlier than she did, so today was an exception. Could it be that he was worn out from last night?
Thinking back to all that absurdity, Lin Aiyun’s face grew warm. She decided to let him be for a while longer.
But just as she quietly rose to climb over him, a hand suddenly grabbed her ankle, nearly making her shriek in surprise. She turned her head to find Xiao Cheng looking at her with that teasing, half-smiling gaze of his.
He was resting his head on one hand while the other idly stroked the bone of her ankle. Having just woken up, his eyes were drowsy and slightly narrowed, and with his messy short hair, he looked completely unthreatening—almost adorably goofy.
“Come here, let hubby feel if your butt’s gotten sunburned yet.”
