After Waking Up, I Had Three Husbands Chapter 41: Gu Lingzhou Actually Dared…

The eggshell-blue sky gradually eroded away the last traces of night. Daylight flooded in, illuminating the two faces in the cockpit with a rosy glow. The window reflected Shi Yuxing’s bright tea-colored eyes, below which half his nose was covered by his hand. Propped against the window frame, he could vaguely see the burning red ears of the person behind him.

The air in the cockpit was stiflingly hot. Shi Yuxing cracked the window open a sliver, and the instant rush of morning breeze swept away the heat from his cheeks—but couldn’t blow away the sensation of those lips just moments ago. Gu Lingzhou’s kiss had been heavy, with the clash of teeth. His breath had been scalding hot, the same temperature as the alpha’s body heat.

This guy—why did he have to kiss him out of nowhere? There were high-definition cameras on that traffic signal. If the people in the monitoring room saw… who knew if points would be deducted. Did the driving test regulations say anything about how many points you lose for kissing at a red light?

The beta’s palm was still pressed against the lower half of his face. Realizing he seemed to be savoring the kiss just now, he abruptly dropped his hand.

Shi Yuxing was rarely this flustered. He rubbed his face a couple of times, straightened his back, and sat upright in the passenger seat, staring ahead. The person in the driver’s seat made no sound. Shi Yuxing’s peripheral vision unconsciously drifted toward him. General Gu had sucked his lips back into his mouth, pressing them into a thin line. The light flush on his cheeks had now deepened to crimson—just like the first time he’d seen Xiao Zhou, when his entire body had turned red as if fully cooked.

It was rare to see Gu Lingzhou with such an expression. Shi Yuxing grew bolder, turning his head directly to study Gu Lingzhou’s profile.

Under his blatant staring, the General finally released his moistened lips—glistening wetly. Shi Yuxing narrowed his eyes, thought of something, and cursed under his breath: “Pervert.”

The starship flew fast and soon arrived at the hospital. Gu Lingzhou parked steadily in the temporary spot. His hands didn’t leave the steering wheel—instead, they gripped it even tighter. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. After a long silence, the General finally spoke: “I’ll bring you lunch at noon.”

“Mm.” Shi Yuxing glanced down at his lit phone screen. He’d woken up especially early today, and with Gu Lingzhou’s reckless speeding, he still had half an hour before his shift started.

Dr. Shi curled his lips. He had plenty of time to drag this out with this alpha. A mischievous impulse rose up, impossible to suppress.

The person in the passenger seat didn’t open the door. Instead, after glancing at his phone, he turned back to continue staring at him. The alpha, now red as a cooked shrimp, turned his head, not knowing what to say. His slightly parted lips were still glistening wet, looking quite tempting. Shi Yuxing suddenly felt parched, and put his thoughts into action.

He unbuckled his seatbelt. Just as Gu Lingzhou thought he was about to open the door and leave, the scent of body wash wafted over with a light breeze. Shi Yuxing leaned half his body over. In the space of a breath, the distance between them was less than half an arm’s length.

His heart exploded, sticky blood pulp mingling with the air. Even though Shi Yuxing had left a crack in the window, Gu Lingzhou still felt like he couldn’t breathe, as if suffering from carbon dioxide poisoning.

The starship’s ceiling was high. His knees pressed into the leather driver’s seat, both hands braced on the alpha’s shoulders. Shi Yuxing’s weight bore down. Gu Lingzhou instinctively placed his hands on his waist to support him, while his other hand quickly killed the engine. “Careful.”

Shi Yuxing clung to him, and before he knew it, both feet had crowded over. Even though the starship was relatively spacious, fitting two tall, long-legged people in the driver’s seat was still a tight squeeze. Shi Yuxing knelt with his knees on either side of Gu Lingzhou’s thighs, sensing the stiffness of the person beneath him. A breath of air escaped through his nose—then he plopped himself down onto Gu Lingzhou’s lap.

The General’s breath caught, surprise spilling from his pitch-black eyes. The beta was like a seductive demon—his hands slid down from the shoulders and stopped on his chest.

The muscles beneath his hands instantly tensed further. The person serving as his cushion suddenly breathed heavier, his temples throbbing as if something was swelling. Just when Shi Yuxing thought he had the upper hand, the hands around his lower back shifted down to cup his buttocks. The alpha’s pheromones, unsurprisingly, burst out. If Shi Yuxing could smell them, he probably would have jumped out of the starship and run by now.

“Don’t rub against me.” Gu Lingzhou pressed him closer, chest to chest, the alpha’s frantic heartbeat audible. Fabric rustled softly. Shi Yuxing felt a secret thrill—until the next second, when he couldn’t laugh anymore. The hand on his rear squeezed firmly, and Shi Yuxing yelped and arched up. Then, a light smack landed on his butt—very gentle. Gu Lingzhou’s husky, magnetic voice whispered against his ear: “Wifey, I told you not to rub against me.”

“You hit me! I’m reporting you for domestic violence. Let me up—I need to go to work.” Shi Yuxing realized he’d walked straight into the lion’s den, regret flooding over him. Only now did he think to struggle. Should have just ended it with a kiss… Fuck, how did it get hard?!

The impending disaster made Shi Yuxing start fighting for his survival. He pounded twice on Gu Lingzhou’s shoulders, then, when that didn’t work, started hammering on his arms. The muscles were solid—he only ended up hurting himself. The man beneath him remained unmoving like a stone statue, holding him firmly in place.

Shi Yuxing tried everything. Gritting his teeth, he attempted to tickle Gu Lingzhou’s armpits—but the guy was made of iron, completely immune to tickling.

“Hurry up and let go. I’m going to be late.”

With a long “BEEP—” the vision suddenly dimmed. All access to the outside world was sealed shut. His head exploded with a loud “BANG.” This guy wasn’t going to do it in the starship, was he?

The inside of the starship was terrifyingly dark, Gu Lingzhou’s face barely visible. Shi Yuxing regretted everything. He’d forgotten this guy had a hidden unhinged streak—why did he have to provoke him?

A true man knows when to yield. When force didn’t work, Shi Yuxing switched to begging: “Husband, I’m sorry, I was wrong. Please let me go to work—being late means half a month’s pay deducted.” However, Gu Lingzhou’s reply—”Husband has money”—sent Shi Yuxing’s heart plunging into the abyss.

Will I even see the sun today?

Shi Yuxing fought for his life. “Really, I can’t. There are so many patients today, they’re all waiting to see me. Stop squeezing.” He slapped at the hand on his rear, only to have Gu Lingzhou mimic him—the force he used on Gu Lingzhou was all returned back onto himself.

“Stop hitting me—my butt hurts… Gu Lingzhou! I’m really getting angry!” Shi Yuxing pushed him. Gu Lingzhou’s grip finally loosened a bit, but his hands moved from his butt back to his waist.

Shi Yuxing sat down hard in frustration, wishing he could snap the iron rod behind him in half. “If you try anything, I’ll cut it off.” He crossed his arms, glaring with those peach-blossom eyes—which to Gu Lingzhou looked like nothing more than an angry kitten, utterly lacking in intimidation.

“Mm.” Gu Lingzhou responded calmly.

“That’s more like it. If you’re not going to try anything, let go of me.” Shi Yuxing put on the air of a superior, chin raised, waiting for Gu Lingzhou to release him.

Gu Lingzhou let out a soft laugh and squeezed his waist again—so thin, barely any flesh. His butt was much nicer to squeeze. Under Shi Yuxing’s murderous gaze, he said: “You won’t cut it off.”

Who said that?!

Shi Yuxing had no time to mess around with him. He stretched out his hands to push him, but Gu Lingzhou was simply too strong. Shi Yuxing struggled and cursed: “How can you be so shameless?”

“If I were shameless, I’d have spent the whole night alone with you.” Gu Lingzhou said coldly. Shi Yuxing froze on top of him, the corner of his mouth twitching. Why bring that up now? “Fine, fine—I’ll let you sleep in my room tonight to make up for it. Now stop messing around and let me down.”

They pressed even closer together. Shi Yuxing was beyond annoyed. He grabbed at Gu Lingzhou’s chest muscles—damn they were hard, and that wasn’t a commentary on just his chest. He grumbled: “Hurry up and let—go—I… Gu Lingzhou—”

He slumped his waist, a thin layer of sweat forming on his back. He was running out of strength. Panting, he looked up and tried to negotiate: “Husband, how about I kiss you, and you let me go?” He still wanted his butt to survive, and to see the sun today.

The air above him was scorching hot. Just when Shi Yuxing thought it was hopeless and was about to resort to force again—

“Okay.” The voice was pleasant to the ear.

Plan successful. Without a second word, he quickly pecked the corner of the alpha’s mouth. “There. Now let go.”

One second, two seconds, three seconds… ten seconds!

“Gu Lingzhou, you liar!” Shi Yuxing was so angry he wanted to bite him. He held back, thinking he shouldn’t reward the other man. His upper teeth pressed against his lower lip, tears starting to well up in his eyes.

A flicker of panic crossed Gu Lingzhou’s eyes. He let go, reaching up to wipe the corner of his eye. “Sorry—I wasn’t lying to you. I was just looking at you. Don’t cry.” Quick as lightning, Shi Yuxing curled his lips, grabbed the collar of the military uniform, and lunged forward to bite him.

He did exactly what he’d wanted to do.

A mild sting mixed with the taste of blood spread. Gu Lingzhou’s eyes widened. In the dim light, he could see the triumph in Shi Yuxing’s eyes.

The kiss ended quickly. Shi Yuxing scrambled back to the passenger seat, grabbed his phone, opened the door, and planted his feet on the ground. But he didn’t close the door immediately. Instead, he flashed a thoroughly provocative smile at the person inside—sunlight falling on him, beautiful and breathtaking.

He said: “Gu Lingzhou, next time after you kiss me, don’t lick your lips. If you’ve got the guts, French kiss me.” With that, Shi Yuxing slammed the door shut and ran off, terrified that Gu Lingzhou might actually chase after him.

It wasn’t until he caught the distinct scent of hospital disinfectant that Shi Yuxing finally caught his breath, patting his racing chest.

Trying to mess with me, huh.

But thinking back to those eyes that looked ready to devour him alive, Shi Yuxing still shuddered. He couldn’t tease him too much next time—Gu Lingzhou couldn’t handle it. Getting off easy this time was luck; next time might not be the same.

He glanced back at his own butt, feeling like Gu Lingzhou had spanked it into a perkier shape. That was some heavy-handedness.

The starship in the distance hadn’t left yet. Shi Yuxing recalled the dumbfounded expression on Gu Lingzhou’s face before he’d slammed the door and let out a laugh.

Passing by the nurses’ station, one of the nurses greeted him warmly: “Dr. Shi, you’re in such a good mood today!”

Shi Yuxing nodded. “Just disciplined a dog.”

“Huh?” The nurse was confused, thinking he’d encountered a vicious dog. “You should be careful—you never know if stray dogs around here have rabies.”

“It’s a house pet.”

“Oh, you keep dogs too? House pets definitely need training. My best friend’s beagle keeps chewing up the furniture.”

Shi Yuxing didn’t elaborate, just gave a slight nod. “Maybe it’s a military dog. Pretty obedient, actually.” He thought of the uniform Gu Lingzhou had been wearing today and smacked his lips.

The nurse couldn’t quite follow anymore—she had a feeling Dr. Shi wasn’t talking about a dog. She blinked her big eyes, then suddenly remembered something. “Dr. Shi, I have a little piece of gossip to tell you.”

Shi Yuxing wondered what rumor she’d picked up this time. “What news?”

The nurse beckoned mysteriously. Seeing him not moving, she grew anxious and waved more urgently. “Come closer—can’t let anyone else hear.”

Shi Yuxing obliged and leaned in.

“I heard Dr. Yao is going to be fired. He hasn’t come in for the past few days.”
