After a bout of biting, Ye Ran reached out and pushed Lu Li down directly.
As he fell, his hairpin also came loose. His silver hair spilled messily across the small couch, and his red lips were swollen from her earlier nibbling.
Every inch of him now exuded a disheveled, fragile beauty—as if he could be wantonly ravaged.
Ye Ran’s heart pounded fiercely.
She leaned down, pinched Lu Li’s chin, and left a few red marks with her nails.
“Since senior brother said so, I won’t hold back.”
“Dispose of me as you wish, junior sister.”
As he spoke, Lu Li guided her fingers to his thin lips and gently bit down on her fingertip.
The tingling sensation spread from her fingertip, sending little currents of electricity through her racing heart.
The restless heat inside her found a brief solace, settling for a moment. But as Lu Li’s biting grew more forceful, an even more unbearable feeling surged up.
Ye Ran’s other hand traced down Lu Li’s chest and, catching him off guard, suddenly tightened her grip.
“Ah…”
Lu Li’s bite suddenly grew harder, his body tensing instantly.
Watching his pained expression, Ye Ran found that the pain in her fingertips was gradually transforming into a strange pleasure.
She slipped her finger into Lu Li’s mouth, teasing his tongue, while the pressure from her other hand continued to increase.
Lu Li’s expression grew more and more strained. His body moved involuntarily.
But the next moment, Ye Ran slapped his chest.
“Don’t move!”
Lu Li obeyed instantly.
But his once-pale face was now flushed, stirring an itch in Ye Ran that she couldn’t quite place.
She slowly leaned down, bringing her face close to his. “Senior brother, beg me.”
“Please… master…”
The word “master” made Ye Ran’s breath stop for a moment, then her heart began to race uncontrollably.
She couldn’t hold back any longer. She immediately lowered her head and kissed his lips.
When the restlessness inside her had subsided slightly, Ye Ran got the urge to tease him again.
She gave him a little something, but refused to give him complete relief.
“Master…”
Lu Li’s breathing grew ragged.
But now, the control was in Ye Ran’s hands. He could only look up at her, waiting for her to continue rewarding him.
Just then, Ye Ran let go and looked at Lu Li with an innocent expression.
“Sorry, senior brother. My hand went numb.”
The abrupt halt made Lu Li’s chest heave even more violently. Seeing the smug smile at the corner of Ye Ran’s lips, his eyes grew even darker.
Soon, he leaned up and pecked her lips.
“Then I’ll take my reward myself.”
The moment he finished speaking, Lu Li’s hand went to Ye Ran’s waist, pulling her down firmly.
The sudden motion made Ye Ran’s body tense instantly. She looked down at him in shock, only to see a triumphant smile on his lips.
“Who said you could take it yourself?”
Ye Ran’s expression turned fierce.
Lu Li loosened his hold on her waist, striking a pose as if he were completely at her mercy.
“Then please punish me harshly, master.”
Ye Ran’s heart began to race once more.
At this moment, Lu Li looked like nothing more than an enchanting seducer in her eyes.
She finally couldn’t resist burying her face in Lu Li’s neck, biting his skin fiercely and licking his pulsing jugular.
The feeling of being in control thrilled Ye Ran. Her only complaint was that her waist was beginning to ache.
But thinking of Lu Li’s injury, she became even more intent on her efforts.
After what felt like an eternity, Ye Ran finally collapsed limply into Lu Li’s arms, utterly spent.
“Senior brother, is your wound feeling any better?”
Though completely drained, her first thought was still of his injury.
“I’m afraid I forgot to circulate the cultivation technique earlier.”
The words hit Ye Ran like a hammer blow.
She looked up at him in disbelief, only to find that far from any trace of apology, his face was full of satisfaction and pleasure.
“Lu Li! Did you do that on purpose?”
Ye Ran’s hand moved downward and gave a sharp slap.
Lu Li’s Adam’s apple bobbed, a moan escaping his lips.
When he looked at Ye Ran again, his eye rims were redder, and his face even carried a hint of grievance.
“Since junior sister is tired, let me take over.”
Lu Li slowly sat up, trapping her waist. Whether intentional or not, his movements were extremely slow, and his face grew pale with weakness.
This sight softened Ye Ran’s heart. She pushed him back down and bit his lip.
“Lie still. And remember to circulate the technique this time.”
“Yes, master.”
A hint of amusement colored Lu Li’s voice, but when Ye Ran shot him a glare, he suppressed it and leaned in to kiss her.
After another unknowable stretch of time, Ye Ran’s last ounce of strength was gone. She lay limp in Lu Li’s arms, taking a long while before she could barely speak.
“Has your wound improved?”
“Thanks to junior sister, it’s mostly healed.”
Lu Li’s voice was still husky, his face still wanting.
But Ye Ran, too exhausted to notice, heard only that his wound was much better. She immediately relaxed.
“That’s good.”
With that, she closed her eyes, ready to sleep. But the next moment, Lu Li suddenly flipped them over, reversing their positions.
“Junior sister worked hard just now. Now it’s my turn to put in the effort.”
The words jolted Ye Ran awake. She stared at him incredulously, about to refuse, but Lu Li gave her no chance—he kissed her again.
A Lu Li who had been deprived for a while was terrifying. Even injured, he kept teasing her relentlessly, from the time the sky darkened until it gradually brightened.
In the end, it was the jade token left on the floor, flashing incessantly to summon him to Tianyuan Hall, that finally made him stop with lingering reluctance.
The moment Lu Li left, Ye Ran lost consciousness and fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke again, she noticed the room had grown noticeably emptier. Turning her head, she saw Lu Li packing her daily-use items, one by one, into storage pouches.
“Senior brother? What are you doing?”
It looked an awful lot like a move.
“Yesterday, Master and the elders decided that we would set out for Lingguang City today. Nearly half the disciples are going. There’s still some time before departure, so if you haven’t slept enough, go back to sleep.”
As he spoke, Lu Li continued packing.
He was putting almost everything into the storage pouches—even the few potted plants on the windowsill.
It didn’t look like he was preparing for a trip. It looked more like he didn’t plan to come back.
But Ye Ran’s attention wasn’t on that. She was more curious about the city Lu Li had mentioned.
“What is Lingguang City?”
The moment she asked, Lu Li’s movements paused briefly. Then he spoke slowly:
“The former Lu family home was in Lingguang City. We didn’t find any trace of the demon lord in the illusion last time, so Master has heard that the demon lord might be in Lingguang City. He’s decided to lead the disciples there personally to investigate.”
“I see.” Ye Ran nodded thoughtfully. “Are the other sects going too?”
“The other sects left the day before yesterday. Only Wanxian Sect is going to Lingguang City this time.”
The answer surprised Ye Ran slightly.
Ordinarily, an important matter like hunting down the demon lord should have been discussed jointly by all the sects, much like the last time they entered the illusion.
But this time, not only had the sect leader not consulted the other sects, he planned to leave for Lingguang City immediately after they departed. The whole thing seemed rather secretive.
Ye Ran vaguely sensed that something was off, but this wasn’t something a junior disciple like her should pry into. Besides, the more she knew, the more dangerous it would be for her. So she wisely didn’t ask further.
After chatting for a bit, Ye Ran no longer felt sleepy. She got up to pack her things.
But when she climbed out of bed, she found that almost everything in the room had already been packed away by Lu Li, leaving only empty shelves.
The room looked as clean as the day she had moved in.
And Lu Li still hadn’t stopped. Not only had he put everything he could into storage pouches, but even the system, sleeping nearby, hadn’t escaped his grasp. He grabbed it and tossed it into a pouch as well.
“Senior brother, we’re only going on a trip. Do we really need to pack this thoroughly?”
“No one knows exactly how long this will take. It’s better to be prepared.”
As he spoke, Lu Li finished packing. The entire room was spotless—even the bedding Ye Ran had just slept on was now in his pouch.
Ye Ran started to say something, but looking at the barren room, she swallowed her words.
Never mind. When they came back, Lu Li would be the one to unpack. If he wanted to bring everything, so be it.
This expedition to Lingguang City was massive. By the time Ye Ran followed her master to the sect square, a great many disciples had already gathered.
There were even more people than on the day of the sect tournament.
Ye Ran had assumed they would take spirit boats to Lingguang City, but to her surprise, once all the disciples had assembled, the sect leader ordered the activation of the square’s formation.
As the formation emerged, a massive teleportation array appeared beneath their feet.
White light enveloped their figures, and when it faded, they found themselves in an unfamiliar place.
It was another large square, but this one was surrounded by countless palaces—exceedingly luxurious and grand.
“This is the City Lord’s Mansion. After the Lu family was wiped out, Lingguang City became a forbidden land. To prevent outsiders from entering, the sect leader specially built this mansion here.”
Just as Ye Ran and the other disciples were bewildered, Li Qiuyu spoke up to clarify.
“Today, we’ll rest here and await the sect leader’s orders.”
After speaking, Li Qiuyu suddenly looked at Ye Ran, smiled, and walked over to put an arm around her shoulder.
“My good disciple, how about sleeping with me tonight? I want to see if that boy comes to collect you.”
The “that boy” Li Qiuyu was referring to was obvious.
Being teased by her master in public made Ye Ran a bit embarrassed. But looking at Lu Li standing beside the sect leader, an idea sparked in her eyes.
“Master, I’ll stay with you all. Senior Brother Lu is very busy with his duties, and I don’t want to disturb him.”
Lu Li was far too clingy. This way, she could finally get some rest.
“My good disciple, those were your words. When that boy comes looking for trouble with me tonight, don’t come crying.”
Though surprised, Li Qiuyu eventually agreed.
The City Lord’s Mansion wasn’t just impressive to look at—it was also generous. Every disciple was given a private room.
So although Ye Ran said she was staying with the disciples of Liuyun Peak, it only meant they were neighbors.
To her secret delight, after the rooms were assigned, Lu Li didn’t come near her for the rest of the day.
But just as she thought she would finally have some peace, that night, when she returned to her room and pulled back the bed curtains, there was Lu Li, already lying in her bed.
