After Waking Up, I Had Three Husbands Chapter 79: Bits of Flesh

“You’re back.” The voice was soft, with a hint of laziness. Shi Yuxing, wearing loose pajamas, stood on the sofa with his feet together, his wrists resting on his knees as he looked at his phone. Hearing him return, he immediately popped his head over the back of the sofa, his bright eyes sweeping over. Gu Lingzhou’s sharp gaze instantly softened.

“What are you watching?” Gu Lingzhou leaned in and sat down beside him, the sofa quickly sinking in. Shi Yuxing swiftly turned off his phone screen and scooted away. “You’re all wet. Wait until they’re done showering, then you can go.”

“Mm.” Gu Lingzhou replied flatly, glancing at the snack wrappers in the trash can. “Try not to eat those. Didn’t you have enough dinner?”

Shi Yuxing pouted. “It wasn’t me. It’s your own cravings—blame Xiao Zhou.” At this, a laugh escaped Gu Lingzhou’s nose. He reached out and picked a crumb of fried puffed snack from the corner of Shi Yuxing’s mouth. “Then what’s this?”

“…………” The guilty one stared at it, then rubbed his nose.

“Go on, baby—what is this?” Gu Lingzhou leaned in, the crumb now clearly visible with pepper powder on it. Shi Yuxing pressed his lips together and averted his gaze, but Gu Lingzhou’s other hand turned his chin back. Their eyes locked. Shi Yuxing’s pupils darted, not knowing where to hide. He gripped Gu Lingzhou’s veined hand, gritted his teeth, and sucked the junk food crumb into his mouth.

His pink lips touched Gu Lingzhou’s fingertip. Gu Lingzhou’s pupils instantly contracted to pinpoints. The warm, soft touch wasn’t much different from deeper places, and the moisture trail it left was equally scorching. Shi Yuxing pulled back, his eyes pitifully playing innocent. “What did you say? I didn’t see anything.” Then, right in front of Gu Lingzhou, he licked around his lips clean again, as if ensuring Gu Lingzhou wouldn’t have any more evidence to catch him.

His provocative gaze lifted—only to be genuinely startled by Gu Lingzhou. There was fire in Gu Lingzhou’s eyes, staring at him like a beast seizing prey. His breath drew closer and closer, beating against Shi Yuxing’s heart, scorching it and making it race.

“You—go take a shower…” Shi Yuxing’s hand holding him loosened, then tightened again. He smelled the fir pheromones. “You’re all wet. I’m uncomfortable.” At that, Gu Lingzhou’s dark eyes narrowed, his brows pressing down over his eyes—sharp and dangerous.

A slightly raspy voice grazed his eardrums: “I’ll make you wet, and very comfortable. Want to try?” Crimson flooded his cheeks in an instant. His dirty mind conjured images of that night in the bathroom—the blurry glass, the clear sounds. Shi Yuxing shamefully lowered his head, suppressing the improper thoughts rising within him.

Gu Lingzhou keenly caught the unnaturalness on his face and pressed his lips against him. His lips were roughly ground against, the moist heat reddening Shi Yuxing’s face even more. His head fell back against the leather armrest, a large shadow creeping over him. Shi Yuxing gazed into those easily captivating eyes, parting his lips to let that tongue, which had been grinding against his lip line, slip deeper inside. His pale, smooth calf hung limply off the sofa. After a while, his rounded toes curled tightly, his calf muscles tensed, the smooth, beautiful lines suddenly trembling as his abdomen cramped, pressing out the lines of his V-cut.

Shi Yuxing gasped dazedly, his lungs filled with the scent of magnolia and fir. His foot went even limper, touching the soft carpet. If not for Gu Lingzhou holding him, he would have rolled off completely.

“So much.” Gu Lingzhou’s magnetic voice sent goosebumps across Shi Yuxing’s body. The mist cleared from his eyes. Gu Lingzhou raised his all-purpose right hand and stuck out his tongue. Shi Yuxing’s eyes went wide—water droplets suddenly fell, two wet streaks sliding down his cheeks. Seeing the person beneath him frozen, Gu Lingzhou said: “It’s not the first time I’ve eaten this. Why that expression?” Shi Yuxing looked dead inside. He closed his eyes, tilted his head back, and covered the light with his elbow, refusing to look.

What else could he say about this pervert, Gu Lingzhou?

The sound of tissues being pulled came from beside him. Soon, that shadow climbed back up, kissing his exposed cheek. Shi Yuxing couldn’t take it anymore: “Get lost. Don’t kiss me with that mouth that’s been eating dirty things.”

“Baby isn’t dirty anywhere—clearly sweet and fragrant.”

Shi Yuxing shoved him away, flustered and angry as he rolled off the sofa and pulled up his pants, not even bothering to put on shoes. “Disgusting. I’m going to take a shower.” But before his foot could step out, he was entangled by Gu Lingzhou, who moved like a ghost. His slender waist was gripped by thick, veined hands. The world spun—his scream caught in his throat as he was scooped up by the waist.

The trembling white light faintly illuminated the rain streaks, flickered eerily twice, then went out completely. The beeping overspeed alert of an electric scooter grew closer. A delivery rider in a helmet stopped under the light.

The puddle barely reflected his figure and the extinguished streetlamp.

The road ahead was shrouded in fog. He looked down at his phone’s navigation and delivery countdown, swallowing hard. He twisted the throttle, and the headlight cut a path ahead as he slowly ventured into the white fog.

At first he could still see, but gradually the fog grew thicker, impossible even for the headlight to dispel. He realized he should abandon this order and turned his scooter around.

But the spreading fog had no intention of letting him go. The scraping sounds against walls several times made him even more cautious.

Just then—”Bam!”—a muffled thud. The delivery rider steadied his helmet, put his feet down, and backed up two steps. He first looked at the spot he’d collided with, then checked his navigation.

Strange. The navigation said this was a through road—so why was there a wall?

He looked ahead again. The fog had thinned somewhat, and the headlight illuminated that “wall” clearly. It wasn’t a wall—it was a section of road that had bulged upward from the ground, cracking open a gap so large it would take seven or eight people holding hands to encircle it. His gaze unconsciously rose. The delivery rider’s face drained of all color, his pupils contracting sharply. The moment he realized what it was, he was so terrified that he and his scooter tumbled to the ground, his entire body trembling like a sieve, fear and tears spilling out together.

The food container splattered soup everywhere. The “drip drip drip” sound matched the frequency of the flickering headlight.

The fog cleared. A mouth shaped like two curved sickles opened wide—a gaping maw filled with dense rows of teeth, drool dripping down. It was enough to make anyone’s scalp crawl.

A scream pierced the sky. The delivery rider’s legs were frozen in place, unable to move. At this critical moment of danger, his body seemed as stiff as a corpse. He stared at the monster for a full three or four seconds before finally scrambling to his feet, crying out for his parents. His hands were covered in blood, but he didn’t care about the pain—running and groping through the fog, he screamed.

“Zerg! There are Zerg! Help!!!” His voice trembled with desperation. The next second, his cries were cut short. This fragile life spat blood from its mouth and nose—spraying blood splattered across the wall, turning it red. Then his head lolled to the side. In his final moment, his eyes widened, seeing clearly the Zerg mouth that had severed his chest.

Lights flickered on in nearby windows, one after another. Someone even cursed loudly, then looked out the window—and immediately fell silent, replaced by a scream. Soon, a greater commotion erupted. Those who witnessed it screamed, ran, called for others, or fled downstairs.

The moment the delivery rider died, the ground shook. Multiple sections of road bulged, then burst open. Water jets shot up, and a string of residential buildings went dark. Darkness amplified the fear. The burrowing Zerg quickly climbed the buildings, breaking through windows with their sharp mouths.

Screams, cries for help, sobbing, and flames merged into one. An endless stream of Zerg crawled or flew out of the underground passages, their flapping wings vibrating the air with a mosquito-like hum as they flew toward the belated sirens.

Shi Yuxing straightened up. His bare shoulders let the fabric slide off more smoothly, revealing dense red marks—striking against his pale, luminous skin. Gu Lingzhou clenched his teeth, supporting him. His eight-pack abs were clearly visible with each breath, also covered in fresh scratches from nails—but Gu Lingzhou didn’t care at all. He only wanted to get the person before him pregnant.

As he wished, the flat skin quickly swelled. He guided Shi Yuxing’s hand to touch it, smiling wickedly: “Twenty… baby still want to be on top?” The fir scent in the air was equally wicked. The magnolia couldn’t withstand the blizzard and cold wind, shrinking its buds in retreat.

“Hiss~” Gu Lingzhou’s temple veins bulged. The fir scent grew even thicker, no weaker than the wind and rain outside. The windows rattled loudly. A heavy sheet of rain splashed down, startling Shi Yuxing. He craned his neck and suddenly collapsed onto Gu Lingzhou, falling like a white swan struck by an arrow in the neck.

His heart beat through his pajamas. The faint rise and fall of life was visible through Shi Yuxing’s thin chest. The two rested for a while. Gu Lingzhou smoothed his hair, then kissed his forehead. “Baby’s so good.”

“Good… my as—” Before he could finish, his waist was smacked. Gu Lingzhou smiled darkly: “Is that so? Then I can’t let your hopes down.” Shi Yuxing shuddered involuntarily and quickly changed his tune: “Not good, not good!”

“Then I definitely need to prove it.”

Gu Lingzhou’s lips curled, his brows raised—the very picture of a ruffian. Shi Yuxing shook his head in fear. “Wait—I hear footsteps.”

Almost the moment he finished speaking, the door was pounded thunderously. “Big trouble! The Zerg are attacking!” The two inside exchanged glances, both seeing shock in each other’s eyes. Shi Yuxing scrambled up, ignoring the pain in his thighs and the discharge, grimacing as he pulled on his pants, then ran over and opened the door. Da Ling frowned—his nose was attacked before his eyes. Even though he’d mentally prepared himself, seeing the marks on Shi Yuxing’s neck still made him dig his nails into his palm. He took a deep breath and handed over his phone.

“Four thousand kilometers away—the Zerg have invaded.”

“I’m on it.” Gu Lingzhou, having put on his shirt, came over belatedly, answering the phone on the table and putting it on speaker. An Bao’s voice instantly filled the entire space: “Too late! Fortify your defenses—they’re spreading to other areas!”

Xiao Zhou emerged from his room, his first words: “Gu Lingzhou, you dog again—” His gaze swept over and saw three people standing at the neighboring door, all looking at him. He opened his mouth to speak again, but Shi Yuxing immediately pressed a finger to his lips, signaling him to shut up.

On An Bao’s end, chaotic footsteps accompanied by a thunderous roar cut off. The phone rolled a few times from the shockwave. Four or five seconds of harsh, piercing noise followed, then the line abruptly died, leaving only the desperate dial tone.
