After Waking Up, I Had Three Husbands Chapter 12: “What Are You Two Doing?!…”

The room was a mess. Shi Yuxing’s lips parted slightly; his tea-colored eyes were first filled with surprise, then quickly settled into calm—the composure of a doctor. He took two unhurried steps forward, his gaze toward Gu Lingzhou carrying an indescribable emotion. The next second, the corners of his lips curved upward, and under Gu Lingzhou’s watchful eyes, he bent down to pick up the nearest piece of clothing on the floor.

“Where’s Xiao Zhou?”

“Gone out to buy suppressants…” Gu Lingzhou’s eyes stayed locked on him. “You…” Watching the beautiful face crouch down before him, lowering its head to reveal a pale nape, a heavy breath escaped him. His voice was strained and restrained. “Yuxing, get out. I’ll hurt you.”

Shi Yuxing’s smile widened. His bright eyes slid from the clothes up to the vein-roped back of Gu Lingzhou’s hand. “I’m a doctor. I’ll heal you.”

The moment the words left his mouth, the alpha lunged like a hawk striking its prey, pouncing on Shi Yuxing before he could react. He braced for his head to hit the floor, but the alpha’s large hand shielded it—only his backside and back met the cold ground.

Scorching heat pelted his earlobes with ragged, bellows-like breaths. Gu Lingzhou was scenting him.

The heat quickly crept up his cheeks. He was enveloped, roasted. Dry lips scraped against his neck, and in no time, a flurry of kisses followed. Shi Yuxing could feel something unusual pressing against him.

What it was went without saying.

Shi Yuxing tilted his chin back, exposing more of his pale skin. The kisses gradually turned into wet, soft motions.

“Don’t—don’t leave marks on my neck. They’ll be seen.” The hand on his lower back grew restless. His breathing quickened as he sought the instigator’s eyes—his teasing unconcealed, his words dripping with suggestive promise: “The floor’s so cold, honey~”

The hand creeping beneath his clothes froze—only for a second. Then, a sudden downpour. His cheek was squeezed, and Gu Lingzhou bit at his pouted lips, plundering this deliberately alluring flower.

The 24-year-old beta’s first kiss went to the 32-year-old alpha.

His eardrums pounded like drums struck by heavy hammers, his thin chest rising and falling visibly.

Four petals pressed together, parting only to cling back as if honeyed—neither feather-light nor blood-soaked, just the rawest form of kissing and entanglement. It was Shi Yuxing’s first kiss, and he had no experience; his breaths through his nose were chaotic and unsteady. He’d thought it would be simpler.

Watching others and doing it yourself were clearly different, he thought.

The dense fir scent forced its way into his nostrils, burrowing into every pore, wanting to take over this body, pouring out from every orifice without stopping. It wasn’t until Shi Yuxing truly couldn’t draw in another breath that a silvery strand briefly marked the end of the kiss.

“Yuxing. Breathe.”

“Call me ‘Baby Doctor.’” Shi Yuxing still found the energy to tease the alpha on the verge of madness. He quickly caught his breath and, under Gu Lingzhou’s stunned gaze, swapped their positions—straddling him. Beneath the other’s buttoned shirt was a heart beating as wildly as his own.

Gu Lingzhou’s eyes were fixed on the person above him. Heat rose from his open collar, steaming his chiseled face. His Adam’s apple rolled slowly; the sound of a swallow was audible. “Baby Doctor.”

Shi Yuxing was thoroughly pleased. He breathed close to his ear: “Good boy, honey. Baby Doctor’s here to cure you.”

With that, he braced his hands on the firm pectorals beneath him and pushed himself upright, palms gliding slowly downward—destination: the buttons of the black shirt.

One by one, top to bottom—not a single one missed.

Taut muscles beaded with a thin layer of sweat beneath the dark fabric, rising and falling.

“Patient, your body’s so hot—you’ve got a fever, haven’t you?” Shi Yuxing said with mock seriousness as he slipped a hand inside.

Holy shit—roleplay was amazing.

“You’ve got a tumor right here.”

Gu Lingzhou’s gaze followed his hand downward, and as if amused, he struck back. He grabbed Shi Yuxing’s slender wrist and pressed it over the “tumor,” playing along: “Baby Doctor, what do we do? Am I going to die?”

Instantly, blood surged through Shi Yuxing’s veins. He squeezed along with Gu Lingzhou’s hand. “A tumor this big and this hard needs immediate surgical removal.”

What lay beneath his palm pulsed with the rhythm of a heartbeat, as if breathing.

Shi Yuxing’s wicked smile was plain to see, and Gu Lingzhou took note. A large hand gave his rear a firm slap—not painful, but humiliating. A mortifying sound escaped between his lips. He stared in disbelief and scolded: “What are you doing!”

Those beautiful brows made the hand’s owner pause. Veins crawled from the back of his hand up his forearm. He grabbed that flesh with sudden force, and with strength from somewhere, hoisted Shi Yuxing onto his shoulder, kicking aside the now-troublesome clothes on the floor.

The sudden heat caught Shi Yuxing off guard. Before he could struggle, he was thrown onto the soft bed.

The alpha’s rut had been provoked; his lips eagerly pressed against Shi Yuxing’s ears. The half-undressed man instinctively slid his hand onto Shi Yuxing’s back, skin against skin, and Shi Yuxing shuddered violently.

“Wait!” Breathing heavily with flushed cheeks, Shi Yuxing looked down at the man beneath him, swallowed hard—his chest still heaving. “I—I have something to tell you.”

Though the rut was driving him mad, Gu Lingzhou didn’t want to force anything. Suppressing instinct, he looked up with clear black-and-white eyes, the dark irises like bottomless pits, threatening to suck in, ravage, and grind the person before him to pieces.

Nose to nose, breaths intertwined, Shi Yuxing was caged beneath that lean, powerful frame.

His lips glistened wetly as they parted.

“I—there’s a gland on my inner thigh. I thought I should tell you.”

Only the scent of fir moved through the air. Everything else seemed frozen.

Then a thunderous roar shattered the silence. Both of them turned toward the doorway.

There stood the young alpha, shoes still off, eyes wide. A plastic bag hit the floor with a faint rustle. Xiao Zhou wore the unmistakable look of a man cuckolded—”My home’s been robbed, my wife’s run off with someone else.” His mouth fell open. “What are you two doing?!”

As if he didn’t already know.

“You bastard—you went behind my back and ate my wife!!!” In a flash, Xiao Zhou lunged forward, shouting, “I’m taking your wretched life!”

Neither of them on the bed had time to react. Da Ling took the young alpha’s punch square on—and it was no light one. The thirty-something alpha clutched his shoulder, hissing in pain. “Tch~”

Shi Yuxing was utterly baffled by the sudden turn of events. Was he being interrupted? Was he not going to get any?

Xiao Zhou helped him up, pulling at his collar and inspecting him left and right. When he spotted the hickey on his collarbone, he let out a howl: “Aaaah—my wife, my wife’s been kissed by someone!” He started rubbing at the faint red mark with his hand. If there’d been alcohol nearby, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say Shi Yuxing would have been disinfected head to toe.

Seeing the puppy lean in as if about to spit on his own mark and scrub it away, Shi Yuxing immediately covered his mouth. The young Gu Lingzhou’s eyes, exposed above his hand, were wet with genuine tears—he was truly crying over the fact that Shi Yuxing had been kissed. “Wah wah wah, my wife… my wife…”

Beside them, the alpha nursing his “wound” released a burst of pheromones. “You’re asking for it.”

“And you went behind my back to kiss my wife—were you planning to go further, you old creep? You’re already half-undressed, shameless!” Xiao Zhou’s tearful eyes turned into a machine-gun tirade. “Wah—my wife—my wife—”

The whole scene was bizarre beyond belief.

Shi Yuxing pulled his hand back and laughed. Any heat that had been stirred up had already dissipated.

“Wife, you’re still laughing?! He sent me out to buy suppressants just to get you into bed! Wah wah wah—look at your neck, it’s all bitten! Not fair—I want to bite too.”

Shi Yuxing watched his fake crying, thought for a moment, then pulled down his collar and offered the other side of his neck—as if inviting a symmetrical mark. “Mm, go ahead. Bite lower down so it won’t be seen.”

“Really?” The alpha’s tear-streaked face brightened as he wiped his eyes.

“Fake. Get lost.” Da Ling kicked him off the bed. The rut pheromones were already potent; sparks flew between the two alphas instantly, sleeves rolled up as they prepared to fight. Shi Yuxing feared his bed might collapse and stepped in just as Xiao Zhou was about to retaliate. “Stop!” He was afraid the room wouldn’t survive a brawl.

“Wife, you’re taking his side—he kicked me!” Xiao Zhou pointed an accusing finger, pouting in dissatisfaction.

Shi Yuxing pinched the bridge of his nose. “Fight again, and I’ll call Gu Lingzhou back. You’ll both be taken away for research.”

18-year-old: “…”

32-year-old: “…”

Shi Yuxing let out a deep breath, got up barefoot, picked up the fallen suppressant from the floor, came back, and injected it into the alpha’s arm, pushing the plunger down.

The agitated pheromones steadied. A pair of dark, bright eyes stared straight at his thigh. “Yuxing, you just said your leg…”

Shi Yuxing admitted it openly: “There’s a gland. Similar to yours, but useless. I’m still a beta.”

The Shi family had taken him to see specialists in secret when he was young—the secret had been kept flawlessly. Other than his parents, only Shi Yuxing himself knew. Now, more people knew… one? Two?

Whatever. They were all the same person anyway.

Shi Yuxing put his hands on his hips. “You two are not to tell anyone.”

Da Ling’s gaze was deep and thoughtful as he looked down. Xiao Zhou, on the other hand, was practically vibrating with excitement, his eyes shining. “So you can be marked?” Something seemed to occur to him, and his cheeks flushed crimson.

Shi Yuxing saw right through him. He grabbed a pillow and threw it. “Don’t even think about it. And absolutely no biting.”

“Wife, I wasn’t—” Xiao Zhou’s face grew even redder. He caught the pillow and hugged it, one hand still reaching out to tug Shi Yuxing’s sleeve—but Shi Yuxing dodged. Noticing that Da Ling on the other side had fallen silent, he frowned. “What? Do you think I’m some kind of monster?”

“No, Yuxing—I would never think that. I…” He faltered, and under Shi Yuxing’s gaze, he closed his mouth.

I just wish you could stay a beta forever. Safe and sound.
