Back at the office, the Yangcheng government liaison who had been assigned to them shared the request to find the person Sheng Xinhao was looking for.
“A Wan?” The office director thought for a moment but didn’t recognize the name.
Still, he made sure to emphasize that they needed to conduct a thorough search.
After all, this involved a high-ranking official from Beijing—his entire family held significant status and influence.
If they could assist someone like that, it would help build a closer connection.
“Oh, and regarding the Canton Fair tomorrow, if we encounter Ms. Aviva from Country A, make sure to extend proper hospitality. She is the chairman of Cloudlink Intelligence. If we can introduce any new technology or production lines from her, it would be like winning the lottery for us,” the office director added.
“Yes, understood.”
No one knew why such a major figure from Country A would come to attend a relatively small event like the Canton Fair in China.
But since she was coming, they had to seize the opportunity.
It was just a pity that Ms. Aviva had declined any reception or escort—otherwise, they would have more chances to interact with her.

The next day, after breakfast, Sheng Zexi’s family took a car to the Canton Fair venue.
The fairgrounds were enormous, covering a vast area.
When they arrived, the place was already packed with people.
The first session focused on electronic products.
Gu Jianing saw fans, televisions, and various other electronic goods.
There were also some small electronic toys.
The family didn’t stick together.
Grandfather Sang had wanted to wander around with his wife, but she wasn’t interested.
“Xingxing, want to come with Great-Grandfather?”
“Sure!” Xingxing thought that Great-Grandfather, left in the dark and all alone, seemed too pitiful.
So he decided to keep him company.
Thus, the group split into several smaller parties, each exploring the vast venue.
Gu Jianing and Sheng Zexi took Yueyue, Tuan Tuan, and Grandmother Sang with them.
Grandmother Sang had declined to go with her husband because she wanted to stay close to her grandson and search for her daughter.
She wasn’t here for sightseeing.
As for Sheng Xinhao, he wandered off on his own.
He thought—what if he had a stroke of fate?
What if, by simply walking around, he happened to run into A Wan?
Meanwhile, Sheng Zexi kept glancing at the “watch” on his wrist, but ever since he had put it on, there had been no response.
“Don’t worry. I believe you’ll see her,” Gu Jianing reassured him.
“Mm.”
Elsewhere, A Wan and Henry were in a car, heading toward the Canton Fair venue.
After about ten minutes, they arrived.
Henry took A Wan’s hand, and they walked in together.
Almost the moment A Wan stepped into the venue, the watch on Sheng Zexi’s wrist lit up.
But at that moment, Sheng Zexi was holding Yueyue’s hand.
Yueyue noticed the glowing watch and let out a small gasp.
“Daddy, your watch is glowing!” Yueyue exclaimed.
Her voice immediately drew Sheng Zexi and Gu Jianing’s attention.
Sheng Zexi lifted his wrist and saw the watch shining.
As the light faded, a thin red line appeared on the watch’s face.
One end of the red line was where he stood.
The other end…
Was a small dot about a kilometer away.
That small dot was moving.
The moment he saw that dot, Sheng Zexi’s heart began to race.
“Ningning, she’s here! She’s here!”
Truth be told, he had been uncertain before—because the Mother-Child Locator hadn’t lit up.
That could have meant they were too far apart, beyond the one‑kilometer range.
Or it could have meant that A Wan wasn’t actually his mother—that because they weren’t mother and son, the device wouldn’t react no matter the distance.
But now the device had lit up.
That meant his mother was alive—and she was within one kilometer of him.
“Is A Wan here? Is she?” Grandmother Sang asked urgently.
“Grandma, it should be her. This time, it shouldn’t be wrong,” Sheng Zexi answered.
“Good, good. Then let’s go find her right away.” Grandmother Sang could no longer wait; her eyes were already red with emotion.
“All right, let’s go now.”
So Sheng Zexi, carrying the child, led Gu Jianing and Grandmother Sang toward the location of the little red dot on the Mother-Child Locator.
Meanwhile, Grandfather Sang and Xingxing were wandering through the venue.
Xingxing was fascinated by all the electronic products on display.
Grandfather Sang, on the other hand—perhaps because he had worked at the weapons research institute—found these consumer electronics rather elementary.
He wasn’t particularly interested.
So his eyes wandered.
Then his gaze suddenly fixed on someone who had just entered, and his eyes went wide.
“Am I seeing a ghost?” he muttered.
Even as he said it, his eyes reddened.
He even rubbed his eyes, wondering if his failing vision was playing tricks on him.
Otherwise, how could he see his daughter—who had been dead for more than a decade—standing right there, not far away?
Though she had aged somewhat, she looked exactly as Grandfather Sang had often imagined A Wan would look in middle age.
Even with the passing years, his A Wan was still so beautiful.
The A Wan he saw now matched that image perfectly.
“Xingxing,” he said, “Great‑Grandfather thinks maybe I’m about to die. Otherwise, how could I be seeing your grandmother?”
“Am I dying, and has your grandmother come to take me with her?”
Xingxing, who had been looking at the exhibits, snapped to attention.
Grandma?!
Great‑Grandfather had seen Grandma?!
“Where?” Xingxing immediately lifted his head and scanned the area.
He knew full well that Dad, Grandpa, and Great‑Grandma had come to Yangcheng specifically to find Grandma.
The moment he looked up, Xingxing saw her.
It was her—the same grandmother he had seen at the airport.
It was her!
Finally found her again!
“That’s Grandma! Great‑Grandfather, quick! Let’s go over there. We can’t let her leave!”
Xingxing grabbed Grandfather Sang’s hand and ran toward where A Wan stood.
Dragged along, Grandfather Sang’s mind raced: What? Xingxing could see her too? Why could Xingxing see her? Could it be that Xingxing was dying too? No, that can’t happen!
While Grandfather Sang’s thoughts tumbled in confusion, Xingxing pulled him right up to A Wan.
Xingxing took hold of A Wan’s hand before she could walk on, and said, “Grandma, Xingxing finally found you.”
A Wan had been walking forward, Henry holding her other hand, when she felt a pair of eyes on her.
