Shen Yuanzhou’s steps paused. He turned around expressionlessly. Only after seeing that no one had followed them out did he suddenly shove Yan Yu’an against a tree and reach out to pinch his chin.
“Mmph…” Yan Yu’an let out a pained sound. When he looked up, he met Shen Yuanzhou’s eyes—the mole between his brows was giving off a bewitching red glow.
Then a domineering kiss fell. Shen Yuanzhou bit and tore at Yan Yu’an’s lips, vainly trying to vent his anger this way.
The more Yan Yu’an struggled, the tighter the large hands wrapped around him clamped down. Unable to do anything else, he could only give up struggling and be forced to endure Shen Yuanzhou’s angry kiss.
“Enough…”
He didn’t know how much time had passed before Shen Yuanzhou slowly released him. He watched Yan Yu’an raise a hand to wipe away the saliva dripping from his lips, and his eyes deepened.
The scarlet tongue couldn’t help licking Yan Yu’an’s face, which now bore tear stains.
“My Snake Queen.” Shen Yuanzhou reached out and wiped Yan Yu’an’s tears dry. When he saw those eyes swollen like walnuts, his heart softened at once. “Sorry.”
Yan Yu’an didn’t want to pay him any mind. He slapped Shen Yuanzhou’s hand away and turned to leave without hesitation.
After he left, Shen Yuanzhou’s expression darkened. He glanced at the woods behind him. “Hurry up and get lost.”
“Interesting.” Ning Bingque clapped his hands and walked out. He’d been standing there for a while—it was the first time he’d discovered that a male could look so good when crying.
He looked straight at Shen Yuanzhou, the corner of his mouth curving into a smile. “Yan Yu’an is a very interesting beastman.” He paused, and only after seeing Shen Yuanzhou’s ashen face did he continue, “I’m very interested in him.”
Shen Yuanzhou gave a scoffing laugh, not taking his words to heart at all.
What truly worried him was that brat Xie Ji.
Just kill him and be done with it—this wicked thought lingered in his mind.
Forget it. Yan Yu’an would be sad.
In the end, Shen Yuanzhou sighed and slowly walked back.
“What’s wrong?” Seeing Yan Yu’an return, Xie Ji wanted to get up and hug him, but his wounds hurt the moment he moved.
Yan Yu’an quickly made him lie back down and slowly shook his head. “I’m fine.”
Xie Ji looked at him intently, Yan Yu’an’s figure reflected in his blue eyes.
Yan Yu’an didn’t know that at this moment his face was red beyond words, his eyes red as a little rabbit’s—not to mention that pretty little mouth, red and swollen alarmingly, as if it had been fiercely bitten.
“An’an.” Xie Ji raised his hand and stroked Yan Yu’an’s short hair. His dark face was written all over with pitifulness. “I feel awful…”
Hearing this, Yan Yu’an grew anxious and quickly pressed his forehead against Xie Ji’s.
Xie Ji’s own scent rushed into his nose, and for some reason Xie Ji felt a trace of reassurance—but the next second, a disgusting smell followed, and his eyes flew wide open.
“Good, no fever.” Yan Yu’an let out a slight breath of relief. He’d just been about to get up when he found Xie Ji staring fixedly at him. “Wh-what is it?” For no reason, he felt a little afraid.
“Did that disgusting guy bully you?” Xie Ji shifted back into lion form—but his fur was a mess, the fur on his belly still stained with blood, without a bit of energy, looking utterly pitiful.
Yan Yu’an instinctively shook his head, but the next second, Shen Yuanzhou’s voice drifted over.
“I was kissing my Snake Queen. Is there a problem with that?”
A mocking smile appeared on Shen Yuanzhou’s face. He looked down at Xie Ji lying on the ground. “Poor thing.”
“He called you a poor thing.”
Ning Bingque, who had popped up from who knew where, cut in.
“What’s it to you?” Xie Ji suppressed the urge to bite them both to death and said this to Ning Bingque coldly.
He lifted his eyes again and met Shen Yuanzhou’s gaze. In that instant, he felt that Shen Yuanzhou must be thinking the same thing as him.
“That’s about enough.” Yan Yu’an frowned, his delicate brows knitting into the character “川.” He looked thoughtfully at Xie Ji and suddenly understood something.
From beginning to end, he had treated them all as brothers—but after what happened with Shen Yuanzhou, he couldn’t help thinking that Xie Ji liked him too.
He had to reduce contact with them. He secretly resolved this in his heart and turned his gaze onto Ning Bingque.
Surely he couldn’t like me too.
And so, the look Yan Yu’an gave Ning Bingque grew much gentler.
Ning Bingque: “???”
A few days later, Xie Ji’s wounds had finally healed more or less.
“An’an.” Xie Ji walked in carrying a big fish. He tossed the still-flopping fish onto the ground and looked at Yan Yu’an expectantly.
Yan Yu’an froze for two seconds. Seeing Xie Ji’s dripping-wet hair, he couldn’t help saying: “You haven’t fully recovered. Why did you go into the water?”
There were still quite a few wounds on Xie Ji’s body, looking frightening.
“You wanted to eat fish.” Xie Ji said with a grin. He smacked the fish dead, then used his sharp claws to scrape off the scales, gutted it, and tossed it into the fire.
He took a deep breath, glanced at Ning Bingque, who had his eyes closed nearby pretending to nap, and softened his voice: “Didn’t you want to eat fish?”
In an instant, everything went silent.
Shen Yuanzhou narrowed his eyes and looked Ning Bingque up and down carefully, while Xie Ji stared at Yan Yu’an, dumbfounded, unable to say a single word.
Even Ning Bingque, who had just closed his eyes, snapped them wide open with a whoosh.
Yan Yu’an gave an awkward laugh. “Hahaha, why is everyone making that face?”
A long, long time passed—long enough for a faint burnt smell to reach their noses—before everyone finally wiped the expressions off their faces.
“An’an, the fish seems inedible now. Let’s eat moose today.” Without caring whether the burnt fish was hot or not, Xie Ji grabbed it by the tail and left the cave without hesitation.
Shen Yuanzhou exchanged a light glance with Ning Bingque, then also left the cave.
“I’ll go take a look outside.” Ning Bingque scratched his head and walked out, as if trying to cover something up.
Yan Yu’an squinted and smiled at him. “Be careful~”
Ning Bingque: “…”
He flew off at once.
Yan Yu’an let out a deep sigh, praying this method could dispel their feelings for him.
“I never wanted to eat fish at all!” After flying out, Ning Bingque, sure enough, saw Xie Ji and Shen Yuanzhou standing there waiting for him. He roared, wanting to explain that everything Yan Yu’an did had nothing to do with him.
Xie Ji gave a cold laugh. Though his body still hadn’t fully recovered, it was enough to beat him up. He tossed the dried-up burnt fish onto the ground and cracked his knuckles.
Shen Yuanzhou glanced at Xie Ji and, for once, didn’t snap at him—instead he slowly shifted back into snake form.
Ning Bingque: “…” How on earth was he supposed to explain?
Ning Bingque was naturally no match for two mutants. He was beaten black and blue, several of his feathers falling out.
“You forced me to do this!” He gritted his teeth, glared at the other two, and without hesitation flew toward the cave.
